Taroot
The expression “laying one’s cards on the table” has always intrigued me. For one, the mystery and spirituality that tied to the art of card reading/card tricks can be enticing. On the other hand, the real life challenge of “laying one’s card on the table” for others to peruse and interpret can be terrifying yet deeply needed.
To give the expression a new understanding, this project aims to create an experience using tarot deck to facilitate personal storytelling. A customizable tarot experience, in hope of creating a method for people to share and connect through their narrative turning the act of laying cards into a powerful means of personal connection and exchange.

Design Thinking
Each tarot card is made of transparent material, emphasizing the importance of transparency in building a connection. Every tarot card will feature symbols, names, and meanings of the creator’s choosing, drawing from past memories and experiences. The tarot deck can include as many cards as the creator desires.
Next, three cards are selected from the deck and overlaid for a final reading. The overlaying of cards creates a unique image that connects past experience to who we are today.
Root
The "Root" serves as the app’s foundational experience and starting point. This dynamic landing stage introduces users to the core functionalities of the app through an engaging demo. Users will learn how to perform tarot readings, create personalized tarot cards, and explore the app's features using the creator's personal tarot deck as an example. By sharing the creator’s own journey and insights, this section not only highlights the app’s purpose but also inspires users to craft their unique tarot experiences. After the demo, users are seamlessly guided to the Tarot Home, where they can add new decks, edit existing ones, and archive their creations, offering a personalized and intuitive tarot journey.
Creat The "Creat" stage empowers users to design their own personalized tarot decks through an intuitive and feature-rich editor. Accessible from the Home Page, this editor allows users to craft unique cards using live drawing tools, image uploads, and other creative options. Users can assign numbers, write detailed descriptions, and fully customize the look and feel of each card. With easy organization and editing capabilities, "Creat" provides a seamless and flexible platform for users to bring their tarot visions to life, ensuring every deck is as unique and meaningful as its creator.
ReadingThe "Reading" stage allows users to immerse themselves in the practice of tarot readings. From the Home Page, users can navigate to the Reading Page to conduct readings using any deck in their archive, including both their personal creations and decks shared by others. This feature supports flexibility and connection, enabling users to perform readings for themselves or for others by accepting invitations to explore and interpret other users' decks. "Reading" fosters a collaborative and insightful tarot experience, making it a hub for both personal reflection and community engagement.
Connect The "Connect" stage facilitates meaningful interactions within the tarot community. Users can send and receive invitations for deck readings, fostering collaboration and shared experiences. Through the dedicated Message Page, users can seamlessly manage all invitations and track ongoing or completed readings with others. "Connect" serves as a central hub for communication, allowing users to build relationships, share insights, and deepen their engagement with the art of tarot.
